A GOOD size field participated in Saturday’s stableford event, with 65 men and 13 women.
Troy Elliott is continuing his recent good form with the best score of the day and taking out A grade with 37 points, while runner-up was Martin Pitts with 36 on a countback from Graham Rentsch.
B grade winner was John Raymond who also had 37, two points ahead of Phil Schultz, who claimed runner-up on a countback from Doug Francis.
Balls down the line went to Martin Chin and John Sharrock 35 points, Andrew Bowman 34, Warren Butcher, Jamie Caruana and Nicholas O’Brien 33, Steven Coate, Tim Walkenhorst, Jason Chandler, Kynan Caruana and Ben Taylor all on 32.
Nearest the pins were Kynan Caruana on the third, Mal Groves on the sixth, Rentsch on the 13th, and Gary McFarlane on the 16th.
Closest second shot on the ninth went to Brent Bell, and Chin on the 15th.
In the women’s field, Anne Ryan was a runaway winner with 35, six clear of Jenny Fishburn and Bev Tyson.
Nearest the pins went to Vicki Anderson on the sixth and Fishburn on the 16th.
Tuesday
OUR beginner and emerging golfers had lessons with visiting professional, Daniel Defelice, and we look forward to seeing the continued improvement when they are all back out on the course next week.
Wednesday
IN the Wednesday women’s competition, it was a bit of a fun day with every hole altered to be a par three.
A field of 46 women participated and there was also two men.
Men can now play on a Wednesday in a separate men’s competition if they have enough players.
Jo Forsyth showed her short-game expertise, winning with a great nett score of 50 nett, ahead of Susie Bell with 53 nett, with Helen Beattie claiming third place on a countback with 54 nett.
Balls down the line went to Fran McMeel 54 nett, Shylah Sanderson 55 nett, Marg King, Cheryl Brinkmann, and Kerryn Price 56 nett.
Nearest the pins were on different holes this week, with Sandy Van Renen grabbing the award on the second, Brinkmann on the seventh, and Sanderson on the 10th.
The closest second shot on the 14th and the longest putt on the first both went to Ath Archer.
Next week is the June Monthly Medal stroke, putting, and the fourth round of the silver spoon.

CONGRATULATIONS to Liz Nichol and Carolyn Lewis, who won 4BBB Stableford Division 2 at Chalambar last Thursday.
Today’s event is the June Monthly Medal stroke for the men and a round of the Kavell Lyon Trophy and stroke for the women.
