Bunker Shots

WINNER of the 2023 Hamilton Spectator trophy was announced last week, with Marten Chin claiming the trophy.

This event consists of a round of stroke, a round of stableford and a round of par, with the par round being worth double points.

The scores are adjusted back to a par score.

Chin finished with minus one to finish two points ahead of Jason Chandler on minus three, with Jim King in 3rd place with minus six.

Saturday

Thirteen men and one woman participated in a stableford event with Shannon Kearns taking out first place on a countback from Steven Coate with both finishing with 33 points, while Terry Dunn rounded out the placegetters with 31poits.

Bruce Luhrs took out nearest the pin on the 6th hole, with Mark Brown claiming the 13th hole, Chuck Raymond the 16th hole and Steven Coate was closest with his second shot on 15th hole.

Vicki Anderson was the only woman playing and she finished with 22pts.

Due to the heavy conditions on the course both the Tuesday and Wednesday competitions weren’t held this week.

Out and About

Grampians Golf Club hosted their annual fundraiser event, team of three women’s ambrose with the funds going towards ‘SecondBite’.

The winning team was from Heywood with Karen Cocks, Sue Storer and Judy DeHaas finishing with 64 nett to win on a countback from Sue Walter, Alma Fonda and Martina Whelan, with 3rd place going to Kerryn Price, Robyn Holcombe & Jo Forsyth with 64 1/6

Up Coming Events
On Friday 14th July the Club with be hosting a welcome to new members night, alongside their normal members night.

The evening will run from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, all welcome.
A Trivia night is planned for Friday 1st September, limited to 12 tables of 8, book through the Golf Club. $10 Entry fee.

The Club is hosting an ABBA Tribute Show on Friday 13th October, $85 ticket includes a main meal with bookings to be made by contacting the club on 55 712644.

Dartmoor’s annual tournament commences tomorrow with a 4-person “gentsomes”, they have a men’s 4BBB on Wednesday 28th  June, and women’s aggregate stableford on Friday 30th June, finishing with a 4-person ambrose on Sunday 2nd July. Entries can be phoned to the men’s Captain – Paul Hickman 0404915322.

Today is a stableford event for men and women and currently there are still no carts allowed on course.

Hit them long and straight and enjoy the 19th hole.
