Parklander Candour

Wow what a week, the sun has come out with a little warmth in it, players have a smile on their faces, and we are able to see some action on the fairways.

For those using carts the news is better still as you are allowed back on the rough down the sides of fairways, please refrain from going on the surrounds of the scrapes.

The improved weather has allowed our volunteers to do some mowing and other course maintenance which the members are very grateful for.

The weather is hopefully going to stay on the improve for our Ambrose day to be held on Sunday July 30th, this is a four-person event, any combination, 11.30 for 12.00pm hit off.

Visitors are very welcome; afternoon tea will be provided.

SATURDAY

A reasonable number of players graced the fairways for a stableford event in conditions that at times possibly favoured the brave as we welcomed a visitor in Chris Marchant from Macarthur to join us.

The winner was Vince O’Brien with 34 points from Bruce Taylor on 33 and Chris Marchant on 30 points.

Nearest the pins went to Steve Nattrass on the 2nd, Taylor on the 2nd, O’Brien the 5th and Alex Walter on the on the 13th.

George Donaldson holed the longest putt on the 1st, Peter Irvin on the 16th and Taylor putted truly on the 17th and 18th.

David Rendell won birdies and ferrets.

FRIDAY

A small but dedicated group of players tackled the fairways in a stroke round over the Parkland’s original nine holes.

Taking out the win was Alex Walter with a net 35.5 from Marie Cook on 37.5.

Nearest the pin on the 13th was Peter Irvin, while Cook took out Birdies and Ferrets.

WEDNESDAY

Due to lack of numbers, there was no competition.

TUESDAY

A stableford event was played in heavy but improving conditions and the winner was Kelly Hitchcock with 29 points from husband Allan on 28 and Sue Irvin on 26.

Nearest the pins were awarded to Kelly on the 2nd and 13th, Irene Box the 8th and Allan on the 15th.

The Longest Putt on the 1st went to Box, Laura Hitchcock on the 17th and Heather Wilkinson was successful on the 18th as Kelly also took home Birdies and Ferrets.
