SIXTY-FOUR men participated in an aggregate stableford event, with father and son combination, Troy and Zac Elliott, taking out first place on a countback from George Mclean and Jan Kautsky, after both pairs scored 70 points.
In third spot also on a countback was Jason Chandler and Warren Butcher with 69.
Balls down the line went to Stephen Astbury and Jim King 69 points, John Sharrock and John Andrews, David Edwards and Doug Ward on 67, Stuart McAdam and Trevor Haley 66, Peter Fox and Rob Vecchiet, Darren Coombe and Andrew Bowman, Peter McMahon and Wayne Riddle on 65.
Nearest the pin and super pin on the third hole was Stuart McAdam, taking home $97.
The sixth hole was won by Wayne Riddle, 13th went to Jason Chandler, the closest second shot on the ninth went to Tim Roll and the 15th went to Samuel Hill.
Twenty-three women played stableford with some great scores recorded, as Helen Beattie claimed the win on a countback from Di Sevior after both returned 41 points.
Balls down the line went to Enid Smith 40 points, Sally Warburton 38, Val Linke, Jenny Edwards, Cheryl Brinkmann and Jenny Hurse 37, and Kerryn Price 34.
Nearest the pin on the third hole went to Jenny Hurse, the sixth hole went to Pam White, the 16th was won by Vicki Anderson and the closest second shot on the 15th was won by Jen Pike.
Wednesday
FIFTY-THREE women contested the May Monthly Medal, which was a stroke event and there were some very good scores recorded, with the medal being won by Hurse with a very good score 105 (37) 68 nett.
Jenny was also the winner of C grade, with Lisa Murphy also having a great round, finishing on 70 nett.
A grade winner was Debbie Milne with 90 (17) 73 nett, one shot ahead of Glen Dixon 74 nett.
B grade saw Wendy Wathen continuing her good form winning on a countback from Jenny Edwards, both finishing with 70 nett.
Balls down the line went to Liz Nichol 71 nett, Rachel Slade and Linke 73 nett, Rosemary Belcher and Pam King 74 nett.
Nearest the pin on the third hole went to Kavell Lyons, Dawn Cay took out the sixth hole, and Pam Howell claimed the honour on the 16th hole.
Longest putt on the 13th went to Rhonda Scullion and the closest second shot on the 15th was won by Price.
Edwards won the putting competition with 29 putts.
Tuesday
THERE was a very cold wind on Tuesday, that made for chilly playing conditions, as 17 players participated in the beginners, emerging and nine-hole competitions.
Grant Hornell won the beginners group with 28 points from Kris Fox with 22.
In the emerging group, Jen Upton continued last week’s form to win with 22 points from Jan Hornell, Helen Dillon and Louise Kelson all with 20.
The nine-hole competition was won by Jill Walkenhorst and Marg Langford after both scored 13 points.
Today’s event is a stroke with the men playing for the May Monthly Medal, while the women will be playing a round of the Kavell Lyons Trophy.
The club will be holding a trivia night on May 31.
