SEVENTY men participated in our May Monthly Medal stroke event with Scott Anderson claiming the medal with a very handy 105 (38) 67 nett.
A grade winner was John Hill 70 nett, from Wayne Riddle 71 nett and Graham Rentsch 73 nett.
B grade was close with David Robertson and Rod Munro both finishing with 69 nett, with Robertson winning on a countback, with Ze Elliott third with 75 nett.
C grade was won by Anderson 68 nett, with Graham Trounce and Brian Walker taking out second and third on a countback after both recorded 76 nett.
Balls down the line went to Mark O’Brien 73, Troy Elliott 74, Steven Coates, Noel Jennings, Don Beaton, and Ben Kelson 75 nett.
Nearest the pin on the third hole went to Wayne Millard, Noel Jennings (sixth), Marten Chin (13th), the 16th was also the super pin hole and went to Glenn Hards, while the closest second shot on the ninth hole was won by Andrew Bowman and Kelson on the 15th.
The women played a round of the Kavell Lyons Trophy, with 14 players teeing the ball up, where Margie Hadley took top spot on a countback from Di Raymond, both finishing with 75 nett.
Balls down the line went to Cheryl Brinkmann 79 nett, Molly O’Brien 80 nett, along with Enid Smith and Jo Forsyth 81 nett.
Nearest the pin on the third hole went to Jenny Hurse, Cheryl Brinkmann (sixth), the closest second shot on the ninth was won by Margie Hadley and Molly O’Brien on the 15th.
Wednesday
THE women played a par event with 54 players participating.
A grade was won by Anne Ryan on square from Alma Fonda -1, B grade went to Rhonda Scullion finishing with +1 to win from Rose Tonissen square.
Gina Kelly returned the best score of the day to win C grade with +2, one shot ahead of Helen Beattie.
Balls down the line went to Sally Warburton, Margaret King, Judy Thornton, and Eileen Robertson who all finished square.
Nearest the pin on the third hole was Sue Vickery, Gillian Jenkins (sixth), and Alexandra Kelso (16th), while the closest second shot on 15th went to Marg King and longest putt on the 13th went to Sue Bensch.
Tuesday
ANOTHER good turn up for our beginners and emerging golfers with ideal playing conditions.
Visiting professional, Craig Davis, was on course giving lessons all day.
In the beginners group, Robert Claffey and Louise Field shared first position on 26 points, with Kris Fox finishing on 23.
In the emerging group, Rosalie Broadfoot was the winner with 27 from Kerry Martin 24 and Louise Kelson 21.

THE women will be hosting a Gala Day on May 29 - a two-person Pinehurst with our members being encouraged to play with a guest from another club.
