PENNANT SUCCESS

HAMILTON Golf Club is celebrating this year’s pennant season, winning four flags in the recent finals.

The finals were held at the Portland Golf Club on Sunday and Monday.

The club’s Mixed Pennant team lined up against Mooralla and were going for back-to-back wins after winning the inaugural season last year.

Hamilton’s team included two husband and wife combinations, with Trevor and Wendy Wathen along with Robbie and Jenny Fishburn, with Alma Fonda the other player.

The games were all very close and Hamilton ended up winning, 3-2.

Other players who participated in this team to help them get to the finals were Michael Holcombe, Kevin King, Rhonda Scullion, Sue Walter, Sue Vickery, Chantal Butcher, Gerri Griffen and Deb Pinniger.

In the Men’s Division 3 Handicap, the Hamilton team defeated East Framlingham, 4-1.

The team on the day was Warren Butcher, Tony O’Connor, Shannon Kearns, Stephen Astbury and Matt Hill.

Other players who participated during the season were Kynan Caruana, Jamie Caruana, and John Andrews.

The Women’s Division 2 team defeated Warrnambool, 4-1.

The team line-up was Debbie Milne (captain), Jo Forsyth, Di Raymond, Enid Smith and Gerri Griffin; other players who participated during the season were Sue Vickery and Jenni Pike.

Hamilton’s Women’s Division 3 side defeated Warrnambool, 3-2.

Players were Liz Nichol (captain), Dawn Cay, Margie Hadley, Rose Tonissen and Kath Hartwich.

Other players who participated in the team were Bev Tyson, Rhonda Scullion and Wendy Wathen.
