Parklander candour

PARKLANDS Golf Club’s workforce has been busily cleaning up after the recent storms, while preparing for the annual tournament from October 6-13.

Hamilton businesses are once again providing generous support for the tournament by providing sought after prizes.

Visitors, especially those who haven’t played the Parklands course for a while, are invited to join in the competition and experience the recent course improvements, including the new seventh and eighth holes.

THE field set out with high hopes for Saturday’s Monthly Medal competition.

He also won the putting prize with 22 putts.

Barry Oldaker finished second with 72 from Alan Flavell on 73 and Steve Nattrass on 75.

Minor placings went to Mark Miller on 76 and Wayne Rowland on 78.

Other nearest the pins went to Rowland on the seventh and Ron Oakley on the 13th.

The longest putt prizes went to Nattrass (first), Alan Hitchcock (16th), Bruce Taylor (17th) and Miller (18th).
