IT was a chilly spring day for Saturday’s 18-hole stableford, with a dedicated group of players battling tough conditions that made the game more challenging.
Stewart Turner won with a score of 35 points, ahead of second-placed Vince O’Brien with 29 points, and Bruce Taylor third with 28 points.
Nearest the pin was Allan Flavell on the fifth, while longest putts went to Steve Nattrass on the first, Turner on the 15th, Heather Wilkinson on the 17th, and Vince O’Brien on the 18th.
The longest, straightest drive went to Turner, while O’Brien collected the birdie and ferrets.
Friday
GOLFERS enjoyed perfect weather for Friday’s nine-hole stroke event played over the historic old nine.
A solid round was marked by strong drives, but a few missed opportunities around the scrapes.
Bruce Taylor topped the scores with 33.5 points ahead of runner-up, Marie Cook, with 36.5 and Phil Kosch third with 37 points.
Nearest the pins went to Barry Oldaker on the second and 13th, and Kosch on the first, while also collecting the birdies and ferrets.
Wednesday
THIS stableford event was marred by unfavourable weather conditions, making it impossible for a proper round.
A few brave men attempted to play, but after battling through a few holes, they made the sensible decision to come in early, ending the event.
Tuesday
THIS stableford event took place on a mixed spring day, with fluctuating weather conditions making the course challenging, which impacted the scores.
Kelly Hitchcock won with 29 points, two points ahead of runner-up, Gaye Goggin, who finished second on a countback from Mary McCallum.
Nearest the pins went to Hitchcock on the fifth, Jaymie Broad on the 15th along with Mary McCallum.
Longest putts went to Mary McCallum on the first, Heather Hay on the 17th, and Cook on the 18th.
The longest, straightest drive on the ninth went to Toby Salter, while McCallum collected the birdies and ferrets.
