A GOOD field of 65 men played in Saturday’s stableford event with some fabulous scores returned.
Chris Eales collected 37 points to win A grade on a countback from Chuck Raymond, with Mal Groves rounding out the placings on 36.
B grade winner with a fantastic score was Tom Sobey with 45, from Zac Elliott 38 and Rob Stagoll 37.
C grade and best score of the day was Jack Sobey, who finished with 46 points to hold of runner-up, Nicholas Armstrong, on 43, and Allan Oakley 31.
Balls down the line Brent Bell 37, Stephen Giles and Jamie Caruana 36, Paul Ryan and Wayne Riddle 35, and Ken Wright 34.
Nearest the pin and superpin winner on the third was Jim King who collected $87, the sixth hole went to John Andrews, the 13th to Jason Chandler, and Jason McIntosh on the 16th.
The closest second shot on the ninth went to Shane Ryan, and Wayne Millard on the 15th.
Gerri Griffin topped In the women’s scores with 33.
Wednesday
THE par event saw 40 women take to the course, with Kerryn Price topping the A grade scores on a countback from Jane Sharp after both finished all square.
B grade was another countback with Sally Warburton winning from Fran McMeel after both finished with +4, while Elaine Rentsch collected the C grade honours on a countback from Jen Upton after both posted +1/
Balls down the line went to Lisa Murphy square, Jen Hutton, Pam King, and Liz Nichol -1.
Nearest the pins went to Sharp on the third, Upton on the sixth, and Eileen Robertson on the 16th.
Sue Vickery holed the longest putt on the 13th.
Tuesday
IN ideal conditions in the beginners golf group, Kris Fox had a great round, finishing with 22 points.
The emerging group also had some great scores with Alan McLaughlin’s 24 enough to hold off runner-up, Kerry Martin, who collected 22 and Leigh Coggins was third with 20.

THERE is lots on at the club over the upcoming month, plenty of golfing activities for all.
Twilight golf for men and women is on Wednesdays, hitting off 3pm onwards.

Our visiting professional golfer, Craig Davis, will be holding lessons on October 27 and November 17 – bookings are to be made with Marg King.
Junior golf has recommenced on a Sunday morning, and is a great opportunity for younger members of our community to learn the game of golf.

On Melbourne Cup Day – November 5 - the club will be holding a two-person Pinehurst event – for men and women.
It is a 9am for 9.30am shotgun start, with a light lunch to follow; cost $60 a pair.
There will be a working bee on November 10, 9am to noon, to help get the course tidied up for the upcoming annual tournament.
The club will hold its Annual General Meeting on November 12 at 6.30pm in the clubhouse.
Our annual tournament is being held in November, commencing with women’s stroke event on the 20th, ahead of a men’s and women’s 4BBB par on the 22nd.
The Saturday event will be a mixture of men’s stroke 36-hole championship as well as 18-hole stableford events for men and women, and the tournament concludes on the 24th with a four-person gentsomes event.
Today is a stableford event for men and women.
