Race for GRHA spots continues

THE Division 1 Women’s games were all low-scoring, but the Division 1 Men found scoring a little easier in Glenelg Region Hockey Association (GRHA) round 11 action at the weekend.

Division 1 Women

COLLEGE and Dunkeld Blue battled it out in Sunday’s early game, with neither team able to gain a real ascendency in the clash, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Sophie Merrin was the lone goal scorer for College, while Ella Jackson found the back of the net at the other end for Dunkeld Blue.

The later game saw Coleraine Stripes get the better of Demons, winning 1-0.

It was a defensive clash with Georgie Templeton breaking the deadlock and giving her side a narrow victory.

Scores from Friday night’s match-up between Dunkeld White and Coleraine Black were unavailable at time of print.

Division 1 Men

THE round started on Friday night when Jakabytes and Couldabeens faced off, with Couldabeens claiming victory with a 4-0 scoreline.

The goal scorers were unavailable at time of print.

Sunday’s early game saw Bulls easily account for Demons, 6-0.

James Broad and Tim Dean each finished with two goals each, while Cooper Hein and Tom Schofield also found the back of the net once each in the comfortable victory.
