GLENELG Region Hockey Association (GRHA) round 12 games were played at the weekend, with one of the Division 1 Women’s clashes providing one of the biggest margins in recent history.

Division 1 Women

IT was a one-sided clash beyond all expectations in Sunday’s early game, as College dominated Demons to win, 15-0.

The scoring happened regularly, with Demons unable to interrupt College’s transition, in a busy outing for the goal keeper.

Sophie Merrin was the standout for College, finding the back of the net five times, while Olivia Porter and Olivia Read each recorded hat-tricks.

Georgia Adams and Skye Headlam rounded out the scoring with two goals each.

The scores from the late game on Sunday between Coleraine Stripes and Coleraine Black were unavailable.

Friday night’s game saw a thrilling encounter play out between Dunkeld Blue and Dunkeld White.

Blue eventually held on to win, 3-2, thanks to singles from Grace Potter, Joanna Heard and Nyla Conheady.

Emma Lewis scored a single for White, while the other goal scorer wasn’t registered on the scorer list.

Division 1 Men

COLLEGE also had a big victory in its men’s clash against Jakabytes, winning by nine goals.

The scoring was spread across five players, highlighted by hat-tricks from Ciaran Nelson and Jack Jarvis, while Isaac Shaw found the back of the net twice.

Charlie Hawthorne and Tom Templeton rounded out the scoring for the winners.

Sam Clark was the only Jakabytes player to score in the 1-10 loss.

Couldabeens also got on the winners list after accounting for Demons, 3-0.

Edmond Lyon scored twice for the winners, while the other goal scorer was not noted on the scoresheet.

Results from the Bulls v Rams clash on Friday night was not available.

Two rounds remain before finals, setting up an intriguing final fortnight of the season.
