THE South West District Football Netball League (SWDFNL) is gearing up for a big 2022 season with stability the main theme out of the league’s Annual General Meeting on Wednesday night.
Mark Brown will once again be president at this stage, pending work commitments, while two additional faces have joined the general committee.
Wayne Nunn and Corakson Rae have joined the current committee in a boost for the league.
League media officer, Susie Holcombe said having the stability within the group and adding some new faces was important for the league’s future.
“It is that stability and we do have two new members, who have held positions within the league already, so it will be great to have their knowledge blended in with our group,” she said.
Mark Brown, Darren Jacobson and myself were re-elected and Mark Brown will remain on the board at this stage, but that may change due to work commitments.
“Sally Morton has been re-appointed as our administer as well.”
The club feedback has also been positive with everyone excited about hopefully getting a full season and finals played for the first time in three years.
The league is also working hard on the 2022 fixture with the release expected next week.
“They voted on a start date of April 2, but there is just some other things to check before it will be issued as soon as possible,” she said.
“We are all excited to be able to get back going and all the clubs are all looking forward to starting the season and we have all our fingers crossed that we can get a full season and finals this year.”
The April 2 start date coincides with the Hampden Football Netball League start date with the Mininera and District Football League fixture still yet to be finalized for this year.
