FIVE Hamilton Kangaroos junior netballers will take to the court this weekend, representing the region at the State Association Championships in Melbourne.

Saskia Gould was selected in the 13-and-Under team, while Grace Cleaver and Reet Kaur are party of the 15-and-Under squad.

Ella Sevior and Madsie Phillips round out the quintet, as part of the 17-and-Under side.

For more than half the group, it will be the first time they represent the Hampden Football Netball League.

Cleaver said it was always exciting to represent the region at big events.

“It is a pretty good opportunity to play in higher quality games,” Grace said.

“It feels good to represent our club and it is exciting to play against other associations as well,” Reet said.

The groups have been training for a few weeks now, on top of players’ club responsibilities.

“We have been training once a week for an hour and a half, there has been a lot of extra effort being put in,” Saskia said.
