Eagles out to stay alive in semi-final against the Tigers

HAWKESDALE-MACARTHUR will be out to extend its season into a third week of finals if the Eagles can account for Woorndoo-Mortlake in Mininera and District Netball Association semi-final action tomorrow.

The loser of tomorrow’s first semi-final at Woorndoo Recreation Reserve will drop out of premiership contention, and with the Tigers playing on their home court in front of a big supporter group, the visitors will have their work cut out for them.

Hawkesdale-Macarthur will again rely heavily on its midcourt to apply plenty of pressure, with playing-coach, Josie Barker, needing to lead from the front.

Olivia Twaddle will be instrumental in the goal circle for the visitors, as she attracts plenty of ball and will be a tough match-up for the Tiger defenders.

Versatility will also be important, with both teams able to shuffle players into different positions when required.

The winner will face the loser of the second semi-final between Ararat Eagles and Tatyoon, which will be played today at Hawkesdale Recreation Reserve.
