THE South West District Football Netball League (SWDFNL) awards were held on Sunday, with juniors in the afternoon and the senior presentations in the evening.
Tyrendarra dominated many of the individual awards across the evening, while Coleraine collected many of the club awards, including the most Disciplined netball club, finishing with 1107 points to be four points clear of Tyrendarra, while the Maroons were also the most disciplined football club with 569 points, 10 ahead of Cavendish.
Coleraine was also named the champion club, polling 484 votes to finish 12 ahead of Cavendish.
Tyrendarra’s Mitch Arnold was named the best Under-21 player, while Darras teammate, Jordi Withers, collected the senior goal kicking award with 81 goals, while Dartmoor’s Stephen Lovett booted 51 goals to win the reserves award.
Tyrendarra’s Eliza Fitzpatrick collected the A grade Spectator/Observer MVP award, while Cavendish’s Sophie Delahoy and Heathmere’s Annabel Sutherland shared the A Reserve Spectator/Observer MVP award honours.
Heathmere’s Adele Jeffree collected the B grade Spectator/Observer MVP award, while C grade honours went to Westerns’ Mollie Reed.
The Under-17 best and fairest winner was Dartmoor’s Sebastian Harvey with 21 votes, one clear of Giants teammate, Mason Ropitini.
Heywood’s Jensen Moore collected the Spectator/Observer MVP award with 27 votes, while the Under-17 goal kicking award went to Dartmoor’s Brody Pratt with 56 goals.
The Under-14 best and fairest winner was Cavendish’s Leayla Pohl with 37 votes, eight clear of runner-up, Archie Templeton from Coleraine.
Pohl also collected the Spectator/Observer MVP award with 37 votes, with Coleraine’s Jack Dwyer booting 37 majors to claim the goal kicking award.
Heathmere’s Jayden Jackson won the Under-11 Spectator/Observer MVP award with 14 votes, with Heywood’s Jack Bourke claiming the goal kicking award with 15.
Heywood’s Mackenzie Barr topped the 17-and-Under votes with 27, six votes ahead of runner-up, Coleraine’s Keely Beaton.
The 17-and-Under Spectator/Observer MVP award went to Coleraine’s Stella Grinham
Heywood’s Shantae Keegan and Coleraine’s Mackenzie Beaton shared the 15-and-Under top honour, each polling 22 votes, to finish ahead of runner-up, Olivia Hardy, from Cavendish, with Keegan also collecting the 15-and-Under Spectator/Observer MVP award.
Coleraine’s Hannah Lambert polled 36 votes to win the 13-and-Under best and fairest award ahead of Chloe Pratt, with the Bloods player finishing with 22 votes.
The 13-and-Under Spectator/Observer MVP award went to Tyrendarra’s Jordie McIlroy.
Tyrendarra’s Gina Shemeld won the Rose Wombwell golden whistle award for 2024, while Darras teammate, Alisha Hoggan, received the Shelley McDonald Award.
