HAMILTON’S Elle Rhook has taken out the top honour at this year’s genU artX virtual exhibition.

Elle was awarded the people’s choice award and encouragement award for her painting, The Parrot, in July.

Collecting a $100 gift voucher and a framed certificate, Elle said she was absolutely “overjoyed” to win both awards and said her winning piece was one of her favourite paintings.

The annual exhibition embraces diversity, inclusiveness and celebrates talent by featuring distinguished artworks by Victorian-based artists who identify as living with disability and or have a history of ill mental health. The exhibition takes entries from the across the state including Geelong, Wyndham, Colac, Mornington, Northcote and Warrnambool.
