THANKS to great work from regional Victorians living in the south-west, there are now no active COVID-19 cases in the region.
The final active case listed in the Colac Otway Shire was removed from the official data on Tuesday.
The last time Colac was virus-free was July 17.
Western District Health Service (WDHS) chief executive, Rohan Fitzgerald thanked the community for its great work.
“I would like to acknowledge our amazing community who have demonstrated such patience and respect during these stage three restrictions,” he said.
“We know it’s been a long time to live with this level of restriction, especially when there are so few active cases remaining in regional Victoria.” Mr Fitzgerald said it was positive to see so many locals following the rules and said being COVID-free was a testament to the hard work of the community.
