South-west SES flood training

WITH a La Nina weather event confirmed for this spring, and further rain expected, VICSES south-west units underwent important water rescue training.

Last weekend members of the Hamilton, Balmoral, Dartmoor and Warrnambool units headed to Rocklands Reservoir and Lake Hamilton for intensive deckhand courses.

Hamilton unit controller, John McKenzie said the training enabled VICSES members to operate multiple vessel types and ultimately be deployed as part of a boat crew.
