WESTERN District Health Service (WDHS) is seeking funding for a long-awaited hospital re-development in tonight’s State Government Budget announcement.
WDHS chief executive, Rohan Fitzgerald said a recent survey conducted by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) found 99 per cent of adult inpatients at WDHS rated their overall experience as very good, or good.
Similarly, the survey showed 95 per cent of emergency department (ED) patients rated their experience as very good, or good.
Mr Fitzgerald said it was no secret the team does a great job, and the survey results showed that staff working on the ground were providing excellent care.
However he said more and mor often, the infrastructure supporting this first-class care wasn’t up to standard and the time for delivering ED services in a corridor was over.
