THE inaugural Western Summer Series is in the books and both Cricket Victoria and South Australian Cricket Association has heaped praise on the region following the four-day carnival.
The four-team competition ran from Monday to Thursday last week and Cricket Victoria high performance manager, Dean Russ said the week went as well as it could have.
“It has been fantastic, it has been exactly what we expected,” he said.

The series was put together after the national championships were cancelled due to COVID-19, with three Victorian teams and a South Australian team playing a round robin over four days last week.
