TARRINGTON’S Angus Campbell is the first student from a Hamilton school to be awarded the $30,000 Salt Creek scholarship.
Now in its third year, the scholarship was established through Salt Creek Wind Farm and Merino stud has a simple motto: Helping country kids get to University.
Angus attended Monivae College and graduated in 2019, having a gap year where he worked at Bendigo Bank and did some casual shifts at Blue Malt Restaurant.
Now ready to begin his tertiary studies – a three-year Bachelor of Architectural Design at Deakin University in Geelong – he said he was “relieved” and overwhelmed when he found out the good news. “It was a huge relief on what it means for my studies going forward,” he said
