TELSTRA has warned users its network around Hamilton would be impacted over the next six days as planned upgrades took place.
Acting regional general manager, Marcus Swinburne said the works would upgrade its 3G, 4G and 5G mobile network.
“We’re getting on with some more important, planned upgrade work to our mobile network in Hamilton,” he said.
“While we’ve carefully planned this upgrade work to minimise disruption, our customers may still notice some impact to 3G, 4G and 5G mobile services during this time.
“We’ve sent out text messages ahead of the upgrade to ensure customers have had time to plan ahead.
“We know there’s never a perfect time to schedule upgrade work and we apologise for the interruption but once we’re finished it’ll mean better services and improved connectivity for our customers.”
The work will take place in stages and must take place during the day as it is undertaken at height. Telstra warned businesses who used the Telstra 3G and 4G network to connect their EFTPOS might be impacted.
