SGAE learners celebrate with high tea

LEARN for Life learners from the Southern Grampians Adult Education (SGAE) Hamilton campus prepared a high tea on Tuesday to celebrate the end of term.

Learn for Life was developed to engage people with an intellectual disability, with a focus on improving communication skills, health and wellbeing, independent living and life skills, along with building self-confidence.

Café ABC was set up inside SGAE as a part of the course to give learners a more practical and hands on approach to learning.

For the past eight weeks, SGAE staff have been given the opportunity to order from a set menu that has included soups, breads, pastas and muffins.

Each Tuesday, the learners have been moving around the building and taking the orders from customers, collecting money, writing out the orders, packing the items, and then delivering them.
