HAMILTON’S CBD development is set to take another huge step after the Southern Grampians Shire this week announced it had purchased the old Walkers Mitre 10 building on Lonsdale Street for $1.3 million.

The building has been vacant for around 16 years and Southern Grampians Shire mayor, Bruach Colliton said the building had been a discussion point at council meetings before it was purchased this week.

Cr Colliton said the purchase was a strategic one in helping Hamilton continue its CBD master plan.
