PLENTY of money was raised for a good cause at McDonalds Portland on Saturday, with the restaurant raising around $2000 on the annual McHappy Day.
McHappy Day takes place each year in November, with participating franchises raising money for the Ronald McDonald House Charity, which supports children with severe illness and their families.
The store was able to raise $2052.35, through the sale of Big Mac burgers, Helping Hands and water bottles.
$2 from each Big Mac sold went to the Charity, as well as 10c from every 600mL bottle of water.
The restaurant’s owners also donated $1 for each Menulog delivery order.
“We went pretty well,” said McDonalds Portland QSC supervisor Brandon Gladwin.
“We raised $2052.35.
“It’s about average (for Portland), but considering our current economic climate, it’s pretty good.
“We sold 370 Big Macs, which is a really good effort from the team.”
