LOCKDOWNS and the strain of COVID-19 restrictions on families have seen the increased prevalence and reporting of family and domestic violence (FDV).
According to the latest Crimes Statistics Agency data for the year ending June 2021, the incident rate of family violence-related offences per 100,000 population in the Southern Grampians was 1907.4 - a rise of 15.5 per cent from the previous year – much higher than the Victorian rate of 1399.1 per 100,000.
