RENOWNED journalist and television presenter, Pip Courtney, will officially open Sheepvention Rural Expo on Sunday, July 31 at 12.15pm.
Best known for her work as a reporter and host of the ABC series Landline, Pip was inducted in the Queensland Press Club’s Rural Journalism Hall of Fame in 2018.
She has won numerous awards for her agricultural journalism throughout her career, including a Queensland Media Award for Excellence in Rural Journalism, the Rabobank Star Prize for Rural Broadcasting, the National Rabobank Star Prize, and the International Star Prize for Rural Broadcasting for her 2011 two-part feature on the coal seam gas industry in Queensland.
Pip last attended Sheepvention 25 years ago and is eager to return to Hamilton to participate in the big event.
Visitors to Sheepvention can see Pip at the official opening in the Sheep Pavilion, followed by an industry focused Q&A session hosted by Reid Stockfeeds.
Sheepvention Rural Expo will be held at the Hamilton Showgrounds from Sunday, July 31, to Tuesday, August 2.
