TEMPORARY solar street lighting began being installed on Monday along the east side of Cox Street between Lonsdale and French Street to remain in place until permanent lighting is connected at the conclusion of the Cox Street Redevelopment Project.
Works to install the lighting will continue throughout the week, including removing old power poles and lines.
Part of the road has been closed off, with drivers asked to take extra care when driving along Cox Street and to obey any changes to speed limits while the lighting is installed.
Residents are advised that the lights may not appear as bright as permanent structures, however, they are only temporary.
NBN connection works located at the Lonsdale and Cox Street roundabout were also undertaken on Wednesday.
Temporary and short interruptions to some internet connectivity may have occurred around the area while works were underway, however, the connection was expected to be completed without delay.
