Another Truck Rollover

A CONCRETE truck was left laying on its side after it rolled over near Hamilton on Tuesday afternoon, making it the fourth local truck accident in four weeks.

Dunkeld Police Station leading senior constable, Roger McClure, said the truck rolled over on Mill Road near the intersection of Warburtons Road at about 2.30pm on Tuesday afternoon – a roughly 14-minute drive from Hamilton.

“The truck was travelling east on Mill Road around the vicinity of Warburtons Road, and it’s failed to take a slight left-hand bend in the road,” he said.

“It has proceeded to tip on its side and cross over on the opposite side of the road where it came up against a large pine tree.”

Ldg Sen Const McClure said there were no other vehicles involved in the accident and the driver did not sustain any injuries.

“The driver was taken to the Hamilton Hospital just to be checked over and he was released later on,” he said.

“We managed the road for approximately five hours until the truck was taken away with heavy haulage.

“The truck was a write off.”
