PREPARATIONS are humming along but volunteers are still needed as the P&A Society aims to have everything locked in next week for November’s Casterton Show.
Returning president of the organisation, Troy Robbins said his committee was looking forward to bringing the show back to life after the last two years of heavy disruptions.
“Obviously there’s been a few issues with Covid-19 over the last couple of years,” he said.
“It’s just a matter of rebuilding again, that’s all it is.
“Hopefully everything’s finalised by the end of next week.
“Most of it’s all done – we’ve just got to make sure that entertainment is locked in.”
Mr Robbins also expressed confidence in expanding one of the biggest events in the ever-popular shearing competition.
“We’re trying to get 100 entries this year for the Quick Shear – we got 80 last year at the community event that they held,” he said.
However, volunteers are in high demand to ensure the show runs as smoothly as possible.
“The committee is getting smaller and smaller but … I’d like to think that the show is growing so it’s just hard to get that balance,” he said.
“Most things are already in motion now for the show so it’s just a matter of getting (volunteers).”
People interested in volunteering were invited to attend the P&A Society’s next meeting, to be held this Monday evening, 5 September, at the societies committee rooms, adjacent to the tennis and netball clubrooms at Island Park.
