The Shave will be happening at Monivae College on April 6, but due to the number of participants, half will participate at 10.50am and the other half at 12.50pm.
Year 12 student, Fraser Hill (middle back in blue tie), said that he chose to participate in the shave because it was for a good cause and would help raise money to help prevent this deadly disease.
“I hope to raise around $200 – $300 myself, and as a school we are looking to reach our goal of around $2000,” he said.
So far, the Monivae College team has raised just over $1880 which is extremely close to their goal of $2000, and with a month to go before the shave, look like they will easily surpass it.
Shave participant, Abbey Hill (absent in pic), said that she chose to join in on the fundraiser because it was the least that she could do to support those with Leukaemia.
“I am hoping to raise around $500 but I am happy with any donation and thanks to all those who have donated so far, and as it stands, I have currently raised $395,” she said.
“I think that it is very important to raise awareness, as if we all come together to help, we can make such a different to the lives of many people.
