LAST week was Homelessness Week (Aug 7-13) and for Salvation Army community development worker, Mark Thomas, the weekly lunch and other food deliveries he’s been organising for a few years have been markers for the increasing budget and social pressures locals are under.

The Thursday lunchtime BBQ was in one sense, the “normal weekly meal”, but he also wanted “to raise awareness of homelessness week”.
