Food share rebranded

WITH ever-expanding services assisting people facing food insecurity, Warrnambool and District Food Share has recently changed its name to Western District Food Share.

Effective Friday, August 25, the organisation said the rebranding reflected their expanding scope and commitment to serving the broader region encompassing the entire southwest community - the decision coming after careful consideration and in response to feedback from their partners and stakeholders.

For over 10 years, the organisation has been a strong support for individuals and families in the community facing food insecurity and they stressed the rebranding will not alter the organisation’s core business - to provide emergency food relief to those in need.

“In 2022 alone, Western District Food Share distributed 164 tonnes of food, providing sustenance to over 55,000 people in our community,” Western District Food Share executive officer, Amanda Hennessy said.

“Our new name, Western District Food Share, articulates our determination to reach more individuals across our region who require assistance.

“Our dedication to addressing food insecurity and improving lives remains unchanged. We believe this rebranding will help us connect with a broader audience and strengthen our impact.”

The transition to the new name will see all contact information, social media channels, and operational processes being updated with generous sponsorship and fantastic in-kind support from Hello Design, Cassign, Gunners Business Solutions and Star Printing.

Supporters and partners are encouraged to visit the new website at districtfoodshare.org.au for the latest information and updates.
