FARMERS in regional Victoria were alarmed to discover that while they attended an August 15 rally at Parliament House against proposed transmission lines on their properties, the energy company AusNet opportunistically came onto their farms.

The company can access existing easements but must still provide notification and gain permission to enter and cross private property.
