THE Frances Hewett Community Centre is set to scrap its committee of management to allow coordination of the centre to pass to Western District Health Service. The committee will meet on Tuesday after an initial annual general meeting this week failed to gain a quorum. Centre coordinator, Rebecca Morton, said Tuesday’s meeting would go ahead, even if the required quorum was not achieved. WDHS chief executive, Stuart Schneider, confirmed this week that the service was holding discussions with the community centre. At present, WDHS is represented on the committee of management and a number of its services are run from the centre. “We have offered suggestions, but no decision had been made as yet,” Mr Schneider said.
