A VICTORIAN Fisheries Authority proposal that would see all netting and long-line fishing banned in Portland Bay has been opened up for public comment, as an experienced local commercial fisherman has voiced concerns about some parts of the plan.

The VFA on Monday put out a call for submissions on a draft Fisheries Notice that would effectively formalise the agreement between local commercial and recreational fishers, in place since the early 1990s, to not net in the Bay.
