THE annual Lions Charity Golf Day was held last Sunday at the Grampians Golf Club, with all participants enjoying a fun round of golf in great weather.

Much-needed money was raised for Dunkeld Consolidated School’s Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program and the Lions Diabetes Foundation.

The Diabetes Awareness coordinator, Francis Pekin, spoke on behalf of the Lions Diabetes Foundation and discussed the rising numbers of diabetes cases in Australia and recommended people get tested regularly.

The Foundation also funds camps where children with Type 1 diabetes can learn how to manage their condition and mix with others in the same situation.

The Lions Club thanked their sponsors for supporting the event.
