WITH October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Western District Health Service (WDHS) breast care nurse, Maddie Pertzel, is holding a pink morning tea at the Francis Hewett Community Centre courtyard on Saturday, October 21 from 10-12pm.
World-class research is the best way to prevent deaths from breast cancer and can improve how it is diagnosed, managed, and treated.
Ms Pertzel said this year the Pink Ribbon Breakfast turns 21 and moving back home and into her dream job as a breast care nurse she really wanted to do something for the community and to support all of her patients through their breast cancer journeys.
“If able, you can donate to help me raise funds for world-class breast cancer research because together, we can reach a future with zero deaths from breast cancer,” she said.
All donations go to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) to support breast cancer research which is Australia’s leading not-for-profit organisation.
