THE new Hamilton Rockfest date has been announced for November 30, 2024 after it was postponed in October due to circumstances beyond the committee’s control.

Rockfest is a new rock music-based event that was set to come to the Western Speedway in Hamilton on December 2, 2023 – it will showcase local and regional artists to promote live performances and the music industry in western Victoria.

Rockfest president, Dave Martin, said they are aiming for an attendance of 2500 people as well as sponsorship and staff.

“We will be hosting three emerging talent competitions throughout the next 10 months, with the three winners performing at Rockfest – we are also including a car and bike show,” he said.

“It will be an all ages event – the line-up is changing, and I can’t say too much, but there will be major artists at the event.

“The committee is still working hard and have two new faces with expertise in various roles – we will be looking for a major sponsor whose name will be with the event title.

“Nearly all our current sponsors have stayed on board which is incredible – we are also out and about fundraising and chasing grants.

“It’s going to be a massive day of entertainment and there will also be activities to keep kids entertained.”

Hamilton Rockfest is also putting on a fundraising event on December 6, 2023 at Alexandra House – the money raised will be donated towards Rockfest and the Western District Health Service.
