A TWO car collision occurred at 8.45pm on Saturday night when a driver failed to give way on the Ballarat Road / Rippon Road intersection in Hamilton.

The car rear-ended another vehicle, which spun onto the median strip where it flattened two road signs.

Two fire trucks and several police cars then attended the scene.

Traffic control officers monitored the intersection for the next hour.

Hamilton Police first constable, Alex Clemens, said no injuries were reported at the site but all parties were still taken to Hamilton Base Hospital for assessment.
