Summer’s next pleasant Music in the Gardens session

MUSIC will bring the magnificent Hamilton Botanic Gardens to life again on Sunday, January 14, at 2pm, with The Evergreens Jazz Band the guest performers for the second Music in the Gardens session.

‘The Evergreens’ are a well-known local jazz band throughout the district and have featured in the Gardens several times in recent years.

Friends of the Gardens committee member, Jane Heazlewood, was pleased to be able to present the next session in the Gardens this summer, especially after the first one in December 2023 had to be cancelled unexpectedly.

She encouraged Hamiltonians and visitors to attend the wonderful Gardens and enjoy the Evergreens Jazz Band for their scheduled performance this season.

The Friends of the Gardens thanked all performers for giving their time over the summer period, and pleasure to the local community through these sessions, providing such wonderful quality entertainment in our beautiful Gardens.

The Evergreens’ trombonist, David Coldbeck, said that they were always pleased to play and entertain the community and playing in the Gardens was a particularly special occasion.

“We will get your toes tapping and hands clapping with some good old traditional tunes that are always popular,” he said.

“This year our line-up includes Ewan Macdonald, our bass player.

“His upright bass brings a different and great tone to our band which you will all enjoy.

“Spend the afternoon with family and friends, bring refreshments, a chair or rug - you will have a great afternoon in our beautiful Botanic Gardens.

“See you there.”
