Variety caught In open waters

THE results of the 11th competition held by the Casterton Angling Society Inc held in 'Open Waters' on Sunday February 4, with 10 anglers registering and weigh 18 fish for total weight of 10.539 kg.

Winners of the daily trophies were Terry Sealey with heaviest fish with a bream weighing 856g and heaviest bag of five fish to Ricky Killey with five redfin weighing 2.657 kg.

Exceptional catch was a gummy shark caught by Simon McClintock weighing 5.986 kg which is the leader in 'heaviest for the year' for that species whilst Terry Sealey takes over of 'heaviest estuary perch' with a 704g fish.

The 12th competition will be held on February 17-18, fishing the Glenelg River from Dartmoor to Nelson from noon Saturday to noon Sunday with the weigh-in at the Dartmoor bridge parking bay.
