THE Southern Grampians Shire Council (SGSC), in partnership with Western District Health Services, Genhealth and the Australian Breastfeeding Association, have announced the upcoming event ‘A Woman’s Health Journey’ for new or expectant mothers in the region who wish to gain support and advice.
The free, informative event is designed for anyone who may wish to access valuable evidence-based information and services locally available throughout the various phases of the parenthood journey.
Whether planning to have children in the near future, currently at any stage of pregnancy or are navigating the early stages of parenthood, there will be something at the event for everyone.
Participants will hear from a distinguished panel of local women’s healthcare professionals who will share their expertise and insights, on a range of topics from preconception health, prenatal care, childbirth, postnatal support, and early childhood development.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to engage in interactive discussions with the panellists, both during and after the session.
Complimentary morning tea will be provided, offering a relaxed environment for connecting with fellow attendees.
SGSC leisure facilities coordinator, Di Dixon said the event will be a great opportunity for families to cut through the many misconceptions regarding the preconception, and pre and postnatal journey.
“Families are a high priority for our community and this free seminar highlights the dedication of our local women’s health providers to delivering comprehensive care and support to individuals and families at every stage of the parenting journey,” she said.
“I would recommend anyone to whom this applies to go down, talk to some people in a similar boat and see what can be done for the health of your baby, yourself and your support network.”
The event will be held at the Hamilton Base Hospital Auditorium on Sunday, May 26, from 10am-1pm, with attendance free of charge.
All interested individuals are encouraged to RSVP in advance to secure their spot.
