ABOUT 60 students and staff at Portland Secondary College are participating in this year’s national Push-Up Challenge, raising money to support mental health.
Community health and wellbeing, Year 11 and 12 students are taking on the Push-Up Challenge, which involves community groups and individuals across Australia completing a routine of push ups between June 5 to June 28.
PSC students have chosen to put their funds toward Headspace. So far, they have raised $1983 and completed 12,100 push-ups, placing the school in 10th place in the Victoria challenge.
VCE VM teacher Andrew Prentice said he and his students will do 25 push-ups in class every week.
Students and staff have downloaded an app to track their completed number of push ups, and are having some fun being competitive.
Participants around the nation have been set with the goal to complete 3249 push-ups for 3249 lives lost to suicide in Australia 2022.
