A weekend of art and photo creativity in Coleraine

THE Coleraine Art & Photography Show just experienced one of its most successful events over the weekend, with local exhibitors and others from as far as Glenthompson, Koroit, Portland, Edenhope, Nhill, Penola, Dunkeld, Hamilton and Casterton showcasing a high standard.

The three-day event also attracted visitors from Melbourne, Geelong, Mt Gambier, Dimboola and many other locations.

The Gala Awards Event on Friday evening was opened in front of about 150 people by Southern Grampians Shire Council chief executive, Tony Doyle, with the catering supplied by the Coleraine Primary School.

The Historical Society catered on the Saturday and Sunday, with 95 and 81 people respectively attending.

The art category winners were judged by Hamilton Gallery director, Joshua White and the photography by Mrs Ann James who studied photography at RMIT.

Sales were very successful, with 24 art pieces and 19 photography pieces being snapped up.

The organisers wished to thank their major sponsors, The Coleraine Community Financial Services - Bendigo Bank and Vickery Brothers, along with other sponsors, donors and volunteers who made the event the big success that it was this year.
