Wind farms and hard hats

YOU might be forgiven for thinking that it was a joke, but the recent revelation that high winds were the very cause of bits of new wind turbines in Western Victoria flying off, is no laughing matter.

Serrated trailing edges have broken off wind turbines at the new Golden Plains wind farm endangering farmers, CFA volunteers and even livestock in the vicinity of the infrastructure, prompting wind farm company, Vestas, to issue a warning to neighbouring farmers to don hard hats.
