GOOD Shepherd College (GSC) were thrilled to announce their 2025 student leaders last week.
The 2025 leaders were announced last Tuesday and will serve as positive, nurturing role models for their peers.
Over the past few weeks, candidates have been working hard at filling out applications, writing and presenting speeches at school assemblies and undertaking interviews as a part of the selection process.
The 10 successful candidates have fulfilled roles as culture, academic, service, house and school captains.
The appointed 2025 GSC school captains, current Year 11 students, Craig Jackson and Ellorah McConachy, have both been studying a Unit 3/4 in VCE Physical Education this year, preparing for their first VCE exam next week.
Hamilton local, Ellorah came to GSC halfway through Year 9 and plans to complete her VCE studies in General Mathematics, English, Biology and Food Studies next year, while balancing netball, basketball and footy.
Craig, also from Hamilton, has been a student at GSC since Year 7 and said he has been anticipating his Year 12 studies next year in General Mathematics, Food Studies, English and HHD (Health and Human Development) and spends his free time playing basketball, cricket and footy.
Both Ellorah and Craig said they were most looking forward to being able to represent the school proudly.
“I think it’s just about making it a happy place, so people are willing and excited to come to school,” Ellorah said.
“It’s going to be a really good (student leaders) group next year.
“Everyone is just so friendly in the group and it’s good to see other people’s perspectives, and different opinions – and we are all really close, so I think that’s definitely going to help.”
“We’re all going to get along – we are pretty much one big friend group,” Craig added.
“We’re looking forward to building on making the school a better place for everyone.”
The 2025 GSC student leaders group plans to work together to embed school values, foster meaningful relationships with fellow students and staff and as well as promote a supportive environment for all to thrive.
