WESTERN District Health Service (WDHS) has invited the community to attend its Annual General Meeting (AGM) to provide updates on key healthcare achievements and the opportunity to engage with leadership about future projects and service direction.
This year’s event promises to be a memorable one, featuring local adventurer, Suzan Muir, as guest speaker.
Suzan, a Cavendish resident, recently captured the community’s attention as the runner-up on the SBS Alone program filmed on New Zealand’s rugged South Island.
Alone Series 2 featured 10 Australians who were dropped off alone in separate areas of remote wilderness where they had to deal with the forces of nature, hunger, and loneliness.
Suzan’s journey on the show reflected her deep connection to the natural world and her ability to thrive in some of the most challenging environments.
Beyond her television appearance, Suzan has been passionate about helping individuals reconnect through nature.
Suzan’s extensive experience as a nature guide has developed over decades of wilderness adventures.
This will be a unique opportunity to hear from Suzan as she shares her incredible experiences and insights, offering a powerful message about resilience, self-discovery, and the importance of connecting with nature.
The WDHS AGM is scheduled for Wednesday, November 20, at 3.30 pm at the WDHS Education Centre, Hamilton Base Hospital.
Light refreshments will be provided following the event.
