CASTERTON golfers Denise Gill, Marion Cowland and Anne Michau are Casterton Golf Club’s 2023 Larnie Cameron Memorial trophy winners.

SATURDAY’S stableford event had 53 men and 10 women on course, with Les Lloyd sneaking home on a countback from Ben Kelson to win A grade with 37 points, with Michael Holcombe third with 36.

WITH a very cold, wet day, there was only six players who were prepared to tackle the course on Saturday for a par round.

THE Nichol-Read Memorial Shield is the trophy up for grabs each year in the Parklands-Mooralla Challenge after it was initiated by the families of Geoff Nichol and Bruce Read.

THE Easter Saturday stableford event drew 42 men and four women, as John Warden continued his consistent form with a very handy 40 points to win the men’s event.

AS mentioned previously, we as a club are looking at some new initiatives to attract and retain golfers.

The first activity under the plan will commence on Friday and will take the form of a modified short version of the game designed for those new to golf but will also be attractive for the old hands.

IT’S nine championships under the belt for golfer Ellen Zeunert who claimed Portland Golf Club’s open women’s title on Sunday.

LAST Saturday’s stableford event had a great field with 62 men and 28 women playing.

PAT Hegarty and Neville Wombwell along with Shirley Koch and Denise Gill, were the respective men’s and women’s winners of the John and Mona Hughes Memorial Day at the Casterton Golf Club on Saturday.
