A BIG year of growth for the Portland Netball Association was capped off with some hard-fought grand finals on Monday to bring an end to the season.

ZOE Addinsall continues to bring home success with her tetrathlon endeavours, awarded Junior Female Champion at the Pony Club Victoria Tetrathlon State Championships in Geelong and will now compete at nationals next year.

BASKETBALL Victoria has released the list of teams that will compete in the Junior Country Championships at Bendigo in February, with Hamilton Hurricanes boasting boys teams in the Under-18 and Under-16 competitions.

“I THINK a lot of other sports as options is why there aren’t a lot of girls playing cricket and sometimes they might think, ‘oh cricket that’s so boring’, but I think sports like basketball can be boring, so we’ve all got our thing. I think if other girls came and had a go, they’d realise it can be quite fun – I used to think cricket was boring but now I love it,” Macey Williamson.
